Saints women beat UWI 3-0 and lost to Paragon 1-2. That means we placed 3rd in the group and didn’t make the semifinal. Saints men lost to Malvern 0-1 and beat TT Defence Force 4-1. This means we top the group on goal difference and play TT Police in the semifinal at 10:30am.
Yesterday was pressure. At the start of the day, we had a goal difference of 10, Malvern had 0, and TTDF had 14. Malvern played UWI, who turned up players short and without a keeper, so they piled in the goals and got their goal difference to 9. Then, when we lost to them, it meant that going into the last match, TTDF’s goal difference was 14, Malvern’s was 10, and we were at 9. So we had to beat TTDF by at least 2 goals to end level on points with both of them and have at least a better goal difference than Malvern. The 4-1 result meant that we ended with a goal difference of 12, pulled TTDF back to 11, knocked out Malvern, and ended top of the group.
